Welcome to our newly upgraded website. Applause and gratitude to Trish Broersma, webmaster!
We are excited to share plans for our 2014 Circles Teleconference, with the theme of Beloved Community – a phrase made popular by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We are proud to partner with The Jean Houston Foundation and with Be The Change Earth Alliance to produce this teleconference and launch circles in communities across North America.
The teleconference begins on Feb 3, 2014 with The Season of Nonviolence – just after Dr. King’s birthday – celebrated by many peace groups. Recent celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington invite us to inquire what strides have been made since Dr. King envisioned The Beloved Community as an outcome of making nonviolence a way of life. We will uphold that vision and consider issues of justice, economic wellbeing, wellbeing of the weakest among us – the children – and the state of our home, this beautiful earth, and sharing the commons (water, air, etc).
The new How CirclesWork!: A Guide for Starting and Sustaining Circles will be available this winter to support circle launches.
Twice monthly virtual Circle Forums will offer the experience of participating in circle: one an Action Circle, and one a CirclesWork! circle conversation. Circle Leaders are gathered to help support Circle Forums and respond to your requests.
We are delighted to welcome your communications and involvement on this blog.
